Only In America...

Hello my fellow Franklin County residents:

Only in America, can an immigrant child who grew up in a one-bedroom apartment in the inner city of Cincinnati appear before you today, via this webpage!

Only in America, by studying hard, could that immigrant child receive a merit-scholarship to go to college and double major in Economics and Political Science; and then earn a U.S. Congressional fellowship for a Masters in Business Administration in Management and Marketing.

Only in America, could that child learn to take risks, borrow a huge student loan, and by believing in herself and keeping faith in this great country, earn her law degree from The Ohio State University.

By simply believing in the promise of this land of opportunity, working hard, doing the right thing, and living with convictions and morals, I have earned the opportunity to run for Franklin County Treasurer. I have been very blessed indeed! Yes, I work very hard. No, I never expect that anything be given to me. I must earn it. Today I am asking you, my fellow Franklin County residents, for your support in my campaign and, ultimately, your vote on November 6, 2010.

Allow me to introduce "A Campaign for a Better Managed Franklin County" and also my plans to serve as your county treasurer and create a prosperous Franklin County!

I have the necessary qualifications to serve as the new county treasurer, and to manage the annual $1.25 billion budget. I have been practicing law for 26 years, primarily focused on business, employment, and real estate law. I have helped small business owners manage their operations and I have conducted countless negotiations on their behalf. I have also served as a hearing officer for the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals, adjudicating appeals from the Boards of Revision concerning property valuation disputes. I have taught accounting at The Ohio State University and business in the MBA program at Ohio Dominican University. I have also worked as a tax consultant for a large accounting firm in its Columbus office. I also have performed an independant accounting review of bank accounts for numerous business entities. I am trained and skilled in understanding and analyzing very complex issues.

As a county treasurer, I will examine every issue carefully, thoughtfully, and with a common sense approach. I will advocate and render my decision in the best interest of the county residents. I will be a county treasurer that serves the public - not the other way around! Being elected as your new county treasurer will be a great honor to me, and one that I will be cognizant of daily.

In order to serve the county, of course, I must win the seat! I am fully prepared to campaign 24/7. I am fully dedicated to raising money and entirely devoted to a non-stop grass roots campaign. However, no candidate can win an election by herself! So if you find me worthy of your support and your vote, please help the campaign by volunteering and/or placing a yard sign in your lawn!

I must also make a very difficult request during these hard economic times. Please consider making a financial contribution to the campaign to the extent that you are able. Every dollar really helps, and I pledge to spend your contributions as carefully as I do my own personal family funds. Most importantly, I will be just as careful with our tax dollars once I become the new county treasurer!

Franklin County has become increasingly diverse with the emergence of new ethnic and cultural communities. We must bring these new voters into our political process, re-engage the many voters who have become so disappointed by the career politicians, and make substantial in-roads into the independent voters - not only those with no designated party affiliation, but also those independent thinking voters. My childhood and life experiences uniquely position me to engage these new communities and their voters. This is why I am so passionate about my campaign for Franklin County Treasurer. I will be a public servant who ensures that the voices of the average, hard-working, Franklin County residents will be heard by their county government.

God Bless the United States of America!

     Thank you,
     Julie Hubler
